Sony Ericsson Satio

The Sony Ericsson Satio is a metal cased smart phone, announced by Sony Ericsson .The focus of the phone is the high quality playback of music and video, as well as photography. It will be the first phone in the world to have a 12-megapixel camera .This is located on the back of the phone, behind a slider and features a xenon flash. On the side of the phone, there is a shutter button, and a button which allows you to switch between still and video modes. Next to this is a rocker switch for zooming in and out. Also on this side is a button for playback of photos or video. The other side of the phone has a sliding lock button and a covered slot for a MicroSD card.

The front of the camera is dominated by a 3.5-inch, 16:9 ratio 360x640 capacitive touch screen There is also a front facing camera for video calling. At the bottom of the touch screen are three small buttons: green (left), white (centre), and red (right).

In terms of software, Satio uses a Symbian Foundation operating system based on the Symbian/S60 platforms it will use the Play Now service, Sony Ericsson's mobile content platform, and is part of the company's new Entertainment Unlimited service. In terms of connectivity, it is Wi-Fi-enabled and has a GPS chip for navigation and location-based services. It will also support full Flash for video playback.

Samsung i8910 HD

The Samsung i8910 HD, also known as OmniaHD, is a multimedia smart phone by Samsung. This handset comes with a 3.7" AMOLED capacitive touch screen having a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels, capable of displaying up to 16 million colors. It has an 8 mega pixel camera with the industry-first 720p HD video recording at 24 fps. Other imaging assets include geotagging, face detection, smile detection and WDR (WideDynamicRange) setting. The i8910 Omnia HD runs on the latest Symbian S60 5th smartphone touch UI, with Samsung's TouchWiz interface.

On the connectivity side, the device is offering Wi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a standard microUSB port, a 3.5mm audio jack and TV-out. A GPS receiver with A-GPS is included, along with the optional Samsung Mobile Navigator by Route 66.

The Omnia HD comes in two versions: with 8 or 16GB of integrated storage, both having a hot-swappable microSD card slot handling up to 32GB.

The i8910 HD is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE handset with tri-band UMTS support, HSDPA (up to 7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA (up to 5.76 Mbps) support.
